I bought these MAC underrated Lipsticks and I’m happy I got them !

This time, I wanted to skip the names of those lipsticks which are already on top of the MAC must-have list.  Instead, I wanted to try unsung shades and share them with my readers.

So, here I present MAC’s Forever Curious and Get the Hint? (The name itself has a question mark).

Also, if interested please click on the below link to watch a lipstick swatches.

So here I present MAC Forever Curious and MAC Get the Hint.

MAC Forever Curious and MAC Get The Hint swatches

MAC Forever Curious (Matte lipstick)
MAC Forever Curious

Mac describes it as a ‘Pinky Red’. But I would say it is warm undertones and medium-dark peachy coral. A creamy rich Lipstick formula with a high color payoff in a no-shine matte finish. It has a deep pigmentation and could be applied smoothly and evenly with only one fluid stroke. The lipstick’s texture is light, making it easy to wear and apply.

I love this shade as it provides great coverage to my pigmented lips. It also complements my skin tone. I think it would look great on fair to medium/tan skin tones. But again, you can always check it out personally.

I could not find many reviews on MAC Forever Curious online. So, if you want to grab this shade then don’t wait.

It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $21 (USD) and contains 0.1 oz.

MAC Get the Hint? (Matte lipstick)
MAC Get The Hint?

Mac describes it as a ‘warm rose’ color. I would say it is a matte-finished medium pink with faint, warm undertones. It applies nicely across my lips and does provide complete color coverage. It has a smooth, lightly creamy matte texture that is slightly dense and has just about the right thickness.

As we know, almost all matte lipstick are little bit drying so lips exfoliation is recommended to get the smooth color to pay off.

This shade has become my most loved shade after MAC ‘Mehr’. I mean it gives an amazing pink hue that looks just right and does not wash me out. I was longing for such shades since I knew I could not wear ‘MAC please me’.

I am getting obsessed with MAC Get the Hint? and I am sure you will too 😀.

It is a permanent lipstick that retails for $21 (USD) and contains 0.1 oz.

So, guys let me know if you have tried any of these lipsticks and what you think about it.

Thank you so much.

Maybelline Lifter Gloss Lip Gloss – Review

In winter, lips savior is “Lip gloss” if you want that extra shine on your lips on wintery nights. Imagine a night when you are talking to a girl. All we see are glittery lips and breath Vapor. Wow! Just like a romantic movie scene. Right!

But don’t worry. I am not going to tell you any story here. So, let’s jump to our today’s topic, Maybelline lifter Lip gloss Topaz.

I have tried Maybelline’s other range of lip glosses in the past. About 5-6 years ago, I got introduced to Mac Lipsticks. After that, I never looked back. So, reviewing this product is quite exciting.

Meanwhile, if interested, please watch the YouTube short video for Maybelline lip gloss ‘TOPAZ’ @revivelifewithme

What Maybelline claims?

Maybelline describes it as a “Maybelline NY’s Lifter Gloss Bronzed delivers sun-kissed glossy lips and a fuller look. No Filler. Now, in five bronzed shades inspired by golden hour, this lip gloss formula with hyaluronic acid leaves behind lasting hydration and fuller-looking lips”.

Also, they say, Maybelline New York’s Lifter Gloss delivers glossy lips and a full look. Its breakthrough formula with Hyaluronic Acid visibly smooths the lip surface and enhances lip contour with high shine for hydrated, fuller-looking lips. No Filler. Plus, its XL Wand™ transforms lips in an easy, one-swipe application.

What do I think about it?

First, let me tell you that I have chapped lips no matter what I do or try, especially in winter. This situation led me to grab more lip glosses than lipsticks for the last couple of months. Being said that, I am not a big fan of lip glosses as I feel they are sticky and won’t let me drink or eat anything.  The fun part is, when I leave my hair open, they will always target my lips and stick to it 🤣. Does it happen to you as well? Let me know in the comment section below.

So, Maybelline Lifter Gloss Lip Gloss “Topaz” is a light terracotta with gold pearl. But, Of course, anybody can pull it off since we are talking about gloss. The subtle shimmer gives the right amount of shine to the lips. I mean, it is not as glittery as it may look in the tube.

They say it has been formulated with Hyaluronic Acid to achieve visibly smooth lips and provides a significant amount of hydration.

I agree with their claims, but not entirely.  Why am I saying this? Because I tried this gloss on a regular winter day, it lasted for about 1 hr or so. After that, I had to reapply it. Also, it’s not that opaque. People who have pigmented and dry lips (Like mine) might need to apply couple of layers to get the actual color on lips. It has some coconut mixed vanilla fragrance that I don’t mind smelling. I love it.

The competition has become very tough with a rise in the beauty market. However, we may stumble upon a great product under budget, like Maybelline or NYX butter gloss. You never know.

You can try the Maybelline Lifter gloss, and its retail price is $9.99 (USD).

Maybelline lifter Lip gloss is a beautiful gloss but as per my requirements I think I’ll pass on this in the future. Instead, I would love to buy some more NYX butter gloss and save a few bucks.

Let me know your experience in the comment section below. If you would like to suggest any lip gloss to me. I would be more than happy to try it.

Thank you.

Simple Make up for acne prone skin – Desi style (Indian Style)

Short post alert!

Hello, my beauties,

I know how hard it is to look put together for acne-prone skin when we go out to attend a wedding or even a casual event. As far as makeup is concerned, I believe less is more. So I am using fewer products and trying to look more elegant even with minimum makeup (no extra steps to hide acne).

Here, I have not used any filter as well. I love these simple steps while getting ready when I break out badly.

Kindly watch the below #youtube short video and let me know what you think.

I hope you like it.

Thank you.

COLORBAR – Matte me as I am lipstick review

Give a woman the right lipstick and she can conquer the world. So definitely, it implies red lips. What do you think?

Colorbar is extremely well-liked among urban women and is one of India’s leading brands of cosmetics.

Colorbar Prank 001

Colorbar was the brand I always wanted to buy, and especially their Red lipstick range. I have seen my friends rocking in Colorbar Red lips for the last couple of years. Yes! I used to envy them until I got one.

I must admit, it is one of the most alluring and beautiful lipstick I have ever come across. Believe me guys, Colorbar Prank 001 is the most stunning and mind-blowing color with an amazing formula. I am sure this is a universally flattering color.

I have also reviewed other red lipsticks including my favorite from MAC Ruby Woo and Smashbox Bawse.

Colorbar Prank 001 lipstick with little sharpener

Colorbar Prank 001

The company describes it as a “Matte Me As I Am Lipcolor that combines rich matte with intense moisture. For luscious creaminess with a light texture, just use one stroke. A multi-tasking, extra-long-wearing, extra-pigmented formula provides a smooth coverage that easily adapts to any lip look. This cult-favorite matte lip pencil has the spontaneity of a pencil and the feel of a tattoo, giving it the instant impact of pure lipstick. It is time to let your lipstick speak for itself and make a sexy runway statement!”.

Everything is so right about the formula. Indeed, it’s very light, creamy, and insanely opaque.

Long-lasting, smudge-resistant lip formula with full-color payoff. It’s a lightweight formula that does not feel heavy on the lips.  A water-resistant formula that lasts all day.

Presenting you little model (my daughter) who said yes for this photograph and she is wearing Colorbar Prank 001 lipstick.

After a very long time, I realized I have found such an incredible Red lip crayon that stunned me with its performance, which is under Rs.800-900 (INR) compared to the skyrocketing prices of high-end brands such as MAC, NARs, or Smashbox, etc. Unbelievable! Wished I could grab other shades as well when I was in India.

Unbelievable! Wished I could grab other shades as well when I was in India.

I would recommend it to all my friends. If you can get your hand on it, then please go n grab it. Yes, it is for dry or chapped lips as well. You won’t complain about patchy lips.

So, have you tried it? If yes then let me know what you think about it.

Thank you.

La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60, Oil Free Face Sunscreen

The tug of war between the right SPF, especially for acne-prone skin makes it very difficult to choose the right one.

I have found my savior SPF ‘La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60’ and just can’t wait to share my experience after using this holy sunscreen. So, let’s see why I am obsessed with this oil-free sunscreen and why I think it’s No.1 for me.

Before I start you can read my other blog SPF with or without Oxybenzone? Which one is safer and better?

The company describes La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60. This oil-free sunscreen provides advanced protection while absorbing pore-clogging oil, even in heat and humidity. Our best sunscreen for acne-prone skin is formulated with Cell-Ox Shield® technology: broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection with antioxidants.

Also, the company claims it is –

  • Non-comedogenic sunscreen for oily skin provides broad-spectrum SPF 60 protection
  • Oil-free sunscreen for acne-prone skin helps absorb excess oil, reduce shine, and won’t cause breakouts
  • A powerful antioxidant complex to help protect skin from free radicals caused by UV rays
  • Water-resistant (80 minutes)
  • Formulated and rigorously tested for skin tolerance, even on sensitive skin

What do I think about it?

Believe me, my hormonal acne not giving me a reason to relax and live carefree life for the last 3 years. I always have to worry about applying my acne treatment creams before I hit the bed no matter how exhausted I feel.

On top of it, taking care of acne/sun dark spots and saving my skin from UV rays double up my work. Now choosing SPF was a tough row to hoe.

Initially, I started using Neuneutrogena which was just doing fine but after some time, it used to make my face oily (sometimes very oily). Also, I observe, it leaves a white cast on the face and that’s what I thought SPF was supposed to do at that time.

But La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60 is totally a game-changer.

Just to get a broader picture of the product, you can see a video from one of my youtube shorts.

It feels so good and lightweight after application. A gentle quick-absorbing cream is heavenly great. Lather it up without any hesitation. Your acne-prone face is in safe hands. It does not cause breakouts, or make skin oily. The best part it does not leave any white cast. After applying, it dissolves in the skin like a dream, no more disco ball face.

I highly recommend it for oily skin because it is fantastic for removing oil from the skin, leaving it feeling dry, and preventing shine.

Also, it is a fragrance-free & OXYBENZONE-FREE product, and I believe it will suit all skin types. For more details, I would suggest checking the details on the company website for more information as here I would like to share my thoughts from the customer standpoint.

Being an honest blogger, I would like to mention that I have not noticed a significant change in my skin appearance.

But definitely, I am comfortable now wearing SPF with more confidence. That’s the reason I think it’s the No.1 SPF for me (Until now). I wear it every day without fail and the results are stunning even during hot/humid days. Great sun protection with no greasy residue.

Their formula is indeed distinctive comparing other brands. When you dispense the product, it looks like other SPF but the moment you blend it onto your skin. It blends like light whip cream.

I am sure there may be other great SPF out there in the market but I suppose La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen is one of the most beautiful sunscreens I have ever come across.

Its retail price is under $35 to $40 (USD) for 150 mil/ 5.0 Fl oz.

Final Thoughts

I highly recommend La Roche-Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen SPF 60 for acne-prone or oily skin types. This is a quick-absorbing SPF that leaves no shine and gives a dry touch to the face. Very comfortable to wear and has no white cast effect after application.

If you are already using this SPF then please let me know if it’s working for you.

Thank you so much for stopping by and reading my post.

Why I am not a fan of Lipsticks by SUGAR Cosmetics? – Honest Review

This year I got a chance to visit India and, meet my near and dear ones after 5 years. Being a makeup addict, I could not miss a chance to buy a few Indian makeup products and review them on my blog.

So today we are going to talk about Sugar Cosmetics which is an Indian Brand and their lipsticks ‘Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick’ which is a true matte and their Satin Lipsticks.

‘Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick’ by Sugar Cosmetics

I see my Indian girls buzzing up for Sugar Cosmetic products these days. Especially, their liquid lipstick line ‘Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick’.

But honestly, when I tried their liquid lipstick in the store. I felt like it was ripping up my skin and was so hard. My lips literally got shrunk within 15 min after application and I could not even talk properly. OMG! Without wasting a second, I returned it, right after I purchased it. So, girls, if you have chapped lips like mine, please stay away unless you want to buy them and try them.

It was so dehydrated and hard on my lips. It started to burn and could not stand it for more than 15 min. It might be transfer proof but honestly, Sugar cosmetics should work hard on liquid matte formulas if they really want to cover all lips types. Strictly not for me.

I don’t know how my Indian fellows are getting along with it. For me, Big No for Sugar Cosmetics ‘Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick’ MRP Rs. 499 (INR).

Mettle Satin Lipstick by Sugar Cosmetics

On the other hand, SUGAR Cosmetic’s Satin Lipstick range is workable. I like the formula and feel of the Mettle Satin Lipstick. The company describes it as a Mettle Satin Lipstick – 02 Elizabeth (Rosy Cheeks Pink). I would say it is a peachy brownish-pink semi-matte finish.

Being said that, if I compare it with the Satin lipstick “Brave” or Matte lipstick “Mehr” by MAC Cosmetics that is super comfy on the lips. I find 02 Elizabeth by SUGAR Cosmetics is a bit drying and susceptible to patchy lips. That I see as the biggest drawback.

However, maintaining healthy lips can be an aid to pull off the lip game.

As far as talking about this lipstick, it might be great for others. But I believe even this formula is not enough condensed and hydrating to provide a creamy satin texture. But far better than ‘Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick’ liquid lipstick.

People prone to dry or chapped lips throughout the year can buy this lipstick if they exfoliate their lips regularly . Its longevity remains good for 5-6 hrs comfortably. That’s quite great for Indian weather considering the climate, and non-AC public transportation facility (if I talk about my town).

Hand Swatches

Mettle Satin Lipstick – 02 Elizabeth by SUGAR Cosmetics

Mettle Satin Lipstick – 02 Elizabeth by SUGAR Cosmetics

The company describes it as a high-quality lipstick with a lot of pigment that gives you an opaque satin finish in just one swipe. The Sugar Mettle Satin Lipstick has a creamy texture and is long-lasting and waterproof.

MRP is Rs. 999 (INR) and I think it is a little pricey compared to Maybelline or Revlon lipsticks for their Fan favorite matte or satin formulas that comes under Rs. 500 (INR) easily.

My final thoughts, I like this lipstick but not as much as I love Maybelline or Revlon lipstick for their outstanding formulas. I truly think that other drugstore brands are really ahead and sit on the top chain for their creamy matte formulas considering their liquid lipsticks or regular bullet lipsticks.

I have not tried any other products from Sugar Cosmetics so not sure if they are worth the hype in India.

So, girls if you are a happy customer of Sugar Cosmetics for their matte liquid lipsticks and satin lipsticks. I think I have to agree to disagree with you in approving their matte liquid lipsticks. However, their satin formula is good and workable with off-and-on touch-ups.

Finally, not a fan of their matte liquid lipstick since I have dry lips. At the same time, I might think to buy their satin lipstick at a discounted price as I am not willing to pay full price.

So, friends, this was my honest review of the above-mentioned lipsticks by Sugar Cosmetics.

Please let me know what you think about this post.

Thank you so much for stopping by.

MAC BLUSHBABY POWDER BLUSH

MAC BLUSHBABY POWDER BLUSH

This was my first blush from MAC. At that time, I had very little knowledge about how to wear blush, or what color I should pick for a natural look. Those days, I was just getting introduced to makeup and was wearing it occasionally.

MAC Blushbaby blush is a natural finish, sheer coverage powder blush.

The company describes it, as Beige-pink (sheertone) blush that is a super-fine pressed powder that instantly gives cheeks a natural-looking flush. With a natural finish and sheer, buildable coverage, this product is smooth. It spreads evenly and barely clings to the skin.

MAC Blushbaby blush has matte undertones, a muted medium pink color, and relatively warm undertones. It featured a smooth, stiffer, and richer consistency with a semi-translucent, buildable pigmentation that could be created with 2-3 layers.

I reach out to this blush most often and I love how it looks on me. It goes great with a no-makeup look. I believe it would suit fair to medium skin tone very well.

From a price standpoint, we get 6 G / 0.21 US OZ for $28 (USD) which I think is quite too much for the color. Although it is a beautiful everyday blush, I think it’s a very common color and you can find a dupe of it easily at the drugstore price.

So, I would say, don’t grab it online unless you intend to buy it. Visit your nearest MAC store and try a few swatches. If you think, this is going to be a unique shade in your vanity then go ahead. Or else, try to find out dupes of it, and as I’m sure you will get it in NYX, Tarte, etc.

Let me know what do you think about this post and blush.

Thank you.

AVOCADO TOAST SHADOW PALETTE by BH Cosmetics – A tropical Feast to the eyes

BH cosmetics Avocado Toast Eye Shadow Palette

Recently I visited my nearest T.J.Max store for wee shopping and this palette caught my attention. I bought this palette to gift to my sister.

The name Avocado Toast is self-explanatory. You might have guessed the colors until now.

Yes! It has a beautiful combination of greens and shimmery warm colors. One can wear it on “Earth day” for sure. The best part is, all colors are very pigmented and can be a great companion to pull off a sultry smokey look.

Wear a classic green or tropical look, or any mattes with a shimmer. You are definitely going to like it.

Honestly, the pigmentation of matte colors of BH cosmetics Avocado Toast palette is a lot better than MAC ‘Lens Blur’ Powder Kiss Soft Matte Eye Shadow.

Since we are talking about tropical feast to the eyes then you might like NYX EYE SHADOW PALETTE “FESTIVAL” which is a beautiful drugstore palette.

BH cosmetics Avocado Toast is a combination of mattes and shimmers and indeed a tropical feast to the eyes if you wish to.

A palette of 16 eyeshadow colors. The Avocado Toast Palette, which has 16 matte, shimmer, and glitter tones, was created as a compliment to everyone’s favorite weekend brunch. Bright green tones, creamy earthy hues, and silky neutrals are all included in the palette, which has a one-application intensity and a buildable, blendable, and exceptionally long-lasting consistency.

Swatches

From Left Avocuddle, Pink salt, Expensive, Spicy

from Left Lemon Pepper, Avo Toast, Ripe, Hass

From Left Over Easy, Super Food, Paprika, Pit

From Left Green Juice, GUAC, Extra, Holy Moly

BH cosmetics Avocado Toast is a combination of mattes and shimmers. The colors are quite pigmented and great for what I got in the store for the price of $7 (USD).

At this point, not sure if you can grab this palette in any other stores. But if interested I would say, give it a try and visit the nearest T.J.Max.

This palette is must-have palette for a party animal. You are gonna love it.

So, guys let me know if you have tried this palette ever and kindly share your experience with us.

Thank you ♥️.

MAC Lipstick ‘TWIG’ and MAYBELLINE ‘Touch Of Spice’ – Identical Match

So, here I am again with a short review. Today I am going to show you that Mac Lipstick ‘Twig’ and Maybelline ‘Touch of spice’ are exact match.

Many influencer vloggers and beauty channels say these two are exact matches (Dupe). Honestly, whenever I try to find a ‘Dupe’ I buy a different lipstick even though it looks the same under store lights. But when you come out of it, the hue changes, and I end up getting a different color of lipstick.

But when I try MAC ‘TWIG’ and Maybelline ‘Touch of spice’. Voila! It’s the exact match.

In the short video below, you will notice, that these two shades are identical and interchangeable, especially, if you love mattes over satin lipsticks.

MAC TWIG is a satin lipstick and Maybelline Touch of spice is a matte lipstick.

Thank you so much.

See you soon ♥️

Thank you!

You must know why Tarte magnetic palette is not suitable for Mac pro-refill pans.

Tarte custom magnetic palette

I was happy when I ordered Tarte custom magnetic palette so that I can transfer some of the MAC’s refill pans and blushes to it. Before that, I owned just a MAC Pro Palette Compact that beautifully accommodates their single eye shadow and blush refill pan inserts with no issues.

But the space in the palette was so occupied that some of my eye-shadow pans literally bend from the side due to inconsistent placement of blush and eye shadow pans together including one or two from other brands. I could see that the poor thing was already exhausted and was overcrowded.

PRO PALETTE LARGE / SINGLE (COMPACT)

Initially, I intended to buy one more MAC Pro Palette Compact as I was happy with the quality and it was surely a place for all. But I saw Tarte’s magnetic palette on sale and I instantly added it to the cart and placed the order.

I never gave so much importance to other details and hence never thought about how a Tarte’s magnetic palette will work for refill pans that have already Magnet attached at the bottom of it.

You see, MAC refill pans are made of steel and so they provide a tiny magnet glued to them. That’s the reason it can easily accommodate their inserts in their company-made customizable palettes. Now here is the catch, those are surely no magnetic pallets but just cases made up of metal surfaces to attract and embrace the attached magnet of the refill pans.

Left is MAC Pro refill pan eye shadow and right is ABH eye shadow refill pan

Now, Tarte magnetic palette is indeed a “Magnetic Palette” that holds the metal pans beautifully. As I can say, the refill pan from ABH (Anastasia Beverly Hills) is made with metal and stuck to a palette as if they are made for each other. On the contrary, MAC inserts fell apart and so did not make any sense to even try to fit those into it.

I did not play with Mac inserts or tried to detach the piece of magnet of it. As it was mere waste of time that could have caused damage to those tiny pans.

If the refill pan inserts are glued to the tiny piece of a magnet then make sure you simply buy a customizable palette that is non-magnetic (has metal surface). As we all know “The opposite poles of two magnets will attract one another when they are brought together, but the same poles will repel one another”. Now, who knows which is the North or South pole of the magnet when we buy such items.

So, finally, I would like to conclude my post here.

As mentioned earlier, make sure you check what kind of refill pans you have and accordingly buy the one which is suitable.

If you have MAC refill pans then it would be recommendable to buy their pro refill palettes only.

If you have pans that have no attached piece of a magnet at the bottom of them then probably Tarte’s palettes would be suitable for them.

I wish I had known this before. Perhaps I missed the point and could not understand the technicality of it. Anyway, guys, I am glad Tarte’s custom magnetic palette open my eyes and made me think over some basic points before buying any random custom palettes.

I hope you find this post helpful and understand why Tarte’s magnetic palette is not useful for Mac pro-refill pans? Or for any of their Inserts.

This was my experience.

Let me know in the comment below if you think this is a helpful post.

Thank you so much.
